I remember it all too well…rushing, feeling overwhelmed, frustrated and concerned about the long list of to-dos for my eldest daughter’s college admissions…would WE get it all done and would it even be good enough? Having her participate in the college prep summer camp along with her private school’s internal support we thought we were covered. Well, when it came down to the wire of deadlines, I realized that the journey getting there was way more time consuming and stressful than it needed to be.
Now that my middle daughter is a high school senior this year, I vowed to do things differently…better. I knew there had to be a way to get support with the essays and timelines as well as me and my family’s own mental and emotional well-being. This is supposed to be a celebratory milestone after all, not a dreaded feat.
Enter Lauren from The CollegeMIND. We set out early enough in the summer leading up to my daughter’s senior year to have the support she needed. I wanted her to feel self-empowered and confident while tackling her dreaded essay and supplemental writings. After her first session with Lauren she not only felt completely assured, but actually excited to get started. What? This was great! I felt instantly relaxed into the process.
I knew there was another way for me and others who fall into the college admissions prep challenges . That is why I am bringing together experts in this realm to create an opportunity for more rising seniors and their parents/guardians to feel supported, clear and maybe even excited about the upcoming college admissions prep journey. It doesn’t have to be a time of dread and stress for us all. We can come together and find tools to master this endeavor.
